Do you read book reviews? Do you let them change your mind about reading/not reading a particular book?
Absolutely! I love to read other peoples thoughts on books, whether or not they are already in my TBR pile. Long before I actually decided to start a book blog, I would read through other peoples blogs to see what they had to say about the books that they read. I always value other peoples thoughts on books, because even if I have a different taste in books, there is always something to be gained from another’s perspective.
One thing I do not do is let someone else’s thoughts overshadow my own when it comes to books. I do value what others have to say, but I’m the type of person who likes to have an opinion of my own (I have a tendency to be VERY opinionated), so I will still read a book no matter what someone says about it, positive or negative.
One thing I can positively say, is that ever since I entered into the book blogging community my list of books to read is steadily growing, and by steadily I mean it is growing scarily, monstrously fast. Even before I started reading book blogs I had a problem when it comes to buying books. And what’s worse is that I cannot part with them either. When someone offers me free books (like my friend and mom did not too long ago) I get all giddy going, “Whoopee!”
When it comes down to it, I love a good story, and one of the best ways to come by new ones is to read what others have to say.
I am so happy I have a Kindle because now I don’t feel as bad buying to many books, lol
Here is mine

I have the Barnes and Noble eReader on my computer and I buy books for that for two bucks which is nice. Lately I’ve been entertaining the thought of getting a nook, but I feel like I would miss the feel of a book in my hands. I’m pretty bad, almost every ebook I have read I’ve purchased a hard copy of just to have it.
I was fine finding books to read myself. Since joining the bookish blogosphere books are added weekly. The sufferings of a bookworm. Haha. I enjoy reading people’s thoughts about books, even if I have no intent of reading it. They don’t change my mind to read a book or not either.
Indeed, though I believe our wallets suffer more than we do as people. At least I know thats the case for me.
Very true.
