Before I get into the bookie stuff. I’d like to say congratulations to all of the miners in Chile who have all been rescued. All of the rescue workers are also above ground. I’ve got to say that it is astounding what these men have survived through for the last two months and I am so happy for them to be above ground, alive, and well.
Seemingly meaningless in comparison to what I just spoke about, amidst my recent minor-scale emotional breakdowns I’ve been doing some book related thinking.
First, can you say therapeutic book shopping. I’m wiped out money wise, but I needed to do some comfort shopping, so I’ve got two orders coming my way. The first should be here tomorrow or the day after and the second whenever they start shipping November 1st releases. Nothing quite like books to squash any bad feelings. I’m way excited to get underway on some of this new stuff.
Secondly, with all of the read-a-thon stuff I see, I keep getting bummed that I can’t participate. I would love to read as much as possible for a day or two. So, to combat this issue, I’m considering doing my own personal Thanksgiving read-a-thon November 25 and 26. Those two days are after the actual holiday, during school break, and I will be able to get out of work. Why not take advantage and get my read on for a bit.
Keep an eye out, I’m sure I’ll have more to say as time gets closer. If anyone else wants to take part, just give a shout out. If you’d like to join me, I say lets go for it!
Happy reading!
I just had a horrendous week and definitely did some comfort book shopping as well. Sometimes that’s the only thing that will really make you feel better!
It’s so true. The anticipation of reading a new book is always an upper for me. Hopefully with out new books and new weeks things will go better this week and on.
