Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow U.S.A. ers!!! In the spirit of the holiday, this weeks BTT question is:
What authors and books are you most thankful for?
As many people know, Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family and being grateful for what you’ve got in life. In that respect I really like this question, it’s spot on with the holiday.
To answer the question, I suppose I’m thankful for all of my books. Reading is something that I love to do for myself and I’m lucky that I am able to make time for an activity that I love. The books I would single out however would have to be those on my list of favorites.
Books such as The Abstinence Teacher by Tom Perotta, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen are books that I consider favorites and have touched me beyond the surface. They have evoked deeper emotions or taught me lessons about life. Each one of these books will stay with me always and for that I am thankful for them.
I have to say that what I am most thankful for is spending time with the two awesomest baby brothers on the holiday, and that is what I’m gonna go do.
What are you thankful for, book and otherwise?
I too am just thankful for my books. I loved all the Jane Austen books and when I was young they touched me deeply and gave me solace when I was alone. I am thankful for smiles and a happy life.
