Procrastination Station…

Note: I’ve edited this post to say that this new version of AIM is bs. Why do people need to make new versions of stuff when they work just fine. iTunes, that goes for you too!

I should be working on my research proposal where I’m talking about why we need a study looking at effective methods of treatment for veteran amputees with post traumatic stress disorder, or my presentation on abuse of children with disabilities, or my presentation on treatment of substance related disorders, or my anti-death penalty presentation, but instead I’m procrastinating, because that’s one of the things I do best.

I’m sure you’re wondering, well how does Hannah procrastinate… I browse websites like ThinkGeek dreaming of the day that I will finally acquire the Bazinga! hoodie, or the Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock shirt, OR the Star Wars Bookends!

Another thing I’ve been doing recently which really is a form of procrastination, though I make it look like it isn’t, is scouting grad schools. This time next year I’m going to be chewing my nails to bits waiting to see if I’ve gotten into the schools I’m researching now. I’ve been looking primarily at school with psychology and law concentrations for Ph.D. students, but there aren’t many. Either way, the whole grad school thing makes me seriously nervous.

I also stalk other blogs, seeing what people have to say or have said, or as in the case of tonight, I steal their get to know me survey thingy-mic-jiggers. So thanks, Cyberkitten, for this one.

Where you named after anyone?
Indeed. My mom named me after the daughter of this guy on an old wilderness show back in the day. Something to do with the guys daughter, Hannah, making a comment about baby bunnies that had my mothers pregnant hormonal self in tears. My middle name is also my grandma’s.

When was the last time you cried?
I have one good major breakdown every semester. It’s like clockwork. I cry and wonder why I’m torturing myself with six classes, and a job, and all the other crap I do and I eat lots of chocolate and drink slurpees. My breakdown was about three or four weeks ago. Other than that I’ve teared a bit from something in a book or a movie, but that’s to be expected from me.

Do you like your handwriting?
Sure, it’s pretty when I want it to be.

What is your favourite lunch meat?
Hmm, I’m a big Chicken Caesar Wrap fan.

Do you have kids?
No, I’m so not even close to ready to take on kids.

If you were another person would you be friends with yourself?
Depends on if its a good day or a bad day and the type of person that I am (when I’m the other guy). I’m too brutally honest for certain people and for others they just think my interests are weird.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I wasn’t sure, so I asked my friend. She said yes.

Do you still have your tonsils?
Indeedy.

Would you bungee jump?
Sure if the mood ever struck me.

What is your favourite cereal?
Cheerios, Lucky Charms – for the marshmellows, and Honey Bunches of Oats.

Do you untie your shoes before you take them off?
Nope.

Do you think that you are strong?
If we are talking physical strength, well I grew up working on a farm. So, yes.

What is your favourite ice cream?
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

What is the first thing you notice about people?
Hair, eyes, height.

Red or Pink?
Pink. Just for the hell of it.

What is the least favourite thing about yourself?
My inability to stay a non-smoker. I worked so hard to quit, but I keep unquitting. It’s awful.

Who do you miss the most?
My friend Heather. She had to go and move to the other side of the country on me so now we don’t get to do Mama’s French Toast at Cracker Barrel outings.

What colour shoes are you wearing?
I don’t have any on, but my socks are white.

What was the last thing you ate?
Pear yogurt. Yummy.

What are you listening to right now?
The Distillers.

If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Indigo.

Favourite smells?
The outdoors after a decent rain and the smell of a farm.

Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
My mom, she made me bring her Starbucks on my way home from work.

Favourite sports you watch?
Soccer (Chelsea FC!), Football (New England Patriots!), Hockey (NY Rangers!)

Hair Colour?

Eye Colour?
Also brown. Oh, the variety!

Do you wear contacts?
Nope, 20/20 vision. For now.

Favourite foods?
Sushi, chicken caeser anything, and steak.

Scary movies or happy endings?
If I had to choose, happy endings. I’ve yet to find myself a decent scary movie. Oh, but now that I think about it, Paranormal Activity did freak me out for a while there. Can’t wait to see the second one.

Last movie you watched?
Did You Hear About the Morgans? Love me some Hugh Grant.

What colour shirt are you wearing?
Blue, with a blue hoodie over it. Seriously, the variety in my life is staggering.

Summer or Winter?
Winter. God I hate hot weather. Which may be unfortunate down the road as I might end up in the south for grad school.

Hugs or kisses?
Both.

Favourite dessert?
Depends on the mood I am in. (Yeah, I’m one of those women.)

What book are you reading right now?
Deer Hunting with Jesus, Irish Dreams, and Sex at Dawn.

What is on your mouse pad?
Funny this question is asked, because I don’t use a mouse pad, but my friend brought me one from England recently, only on the tag its called a Mouse Mat. Anywho, since I use a laptop my fancy schmancy English mousepad is still in its wrapper looking pretty.

What did you last watch on TV?
I haven’t been watching a lot of TV lately, the only shows I regularly watch are NCIS, The Good Wife, Bones, and The Big Bang Theory.

Favourite sound?
I suppose rain. I love rain, except for when I have to drive in it.

Rolling Stones or Beatles?
Beatles.

What is the farthest you have even been from home?
Dublin.

Do you have a special talent?
Not that I’m aware of.

Where were you born?
Hartford, CT. What, what.

For anyone who actually read all of that, all the power to ya.
