The book-bloggosphere this week has been filled with posts regarding the upcoming 24 Hour Read-A-Thon. I declared my participation a while back, and since the big day is this Saturday and I am trying desperately to distract myself from the fear running through my veins at the prospect of the oral board interview I have to attend in just over an hour, I’m going to talk about my plans.
The way that the read-a-thon is set up, I’ll be reading as much as I can from 7 am Saturday morning to 7 am Sunday. There are all kinds of mini-challenges too participate in throughout and there are over 350 people signed-up. That’s pretty cool.
I’ve seen lists of books that other bloggers have prepared for the read-a-thon, but I’m not too good at sticking to those. There are a few books that I will be focusing on assuming I have not finished them by the weekend. Jill Shalvis, Joanne Kennedy, and Kerrelyn Sparks’s recent releases will top that list along with Way of the Wolf by E.E. Knight. I’d also like to pick up another Greg Iles during the read-a-thon and perhaps I’ll finally pick up Sex With Kings. Other possibilities are Blood Dreams by Kay Hooper, The World House by Guy Adams, Book of Secrets by Chris Roberson or perhaps something else from my ever-growing sci-fi/fantasy collection. As always with me though, time will tell what I pick up.
Are you participating in the read-a-thon? Have any books you’re looking forward to?
