Ahhh! Musing Mondays! It’s changed a bit since I last participated, but that’s all good. 🙂
Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
I’m totally going to go on a mini-gush rant about one of the books I’m currently reading…
So… ever since I saw one of Ramachandran’s TED talks I’ve pretty much been a fan-girl of his and I’m finally, gloriously reading one of his actual books. I actually started reading Phantoms in the Brain at jury duty last week to help me pass the time (what with all the waiting and being bored and more waiting). This book is all about neuroscience-y stuff which is like crack for people like me who are downright captivated when it comes to the inner workings of the brain (because seriously, the human brain is amazing… and a half). There are really cheesy jokes and mind-blowing case histories of patients Ramachandran has actually worked with and it’s beyond easy to read. So yeah… I’m loving it. A lot. I can’t wait to finish it and be able to gush for real in a review!
Anything you guys are loving at present? Please share!
Phantoms in the Brain sounds like an interesting book! Happy reading 🙂
Trying to read more Science and less History ATM. Unfortunately I have the (military) history bug *bad* right now.
Not sure I want to look too closely at my brain….scary stuff…lol
Sounds fascinating! Here’s my MM: http://daystarz.wordpress.com/2013/02/04/chatterbox/
