Musing Monday’s: February 11th

musingmondays

It’s Monday which means it’s time to get my musing on!

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.

This week I’m going to go with the first option since I keep laughing about this particular thing to myself and I kinda want to share it. A few weeks ago I found this on Pinterest…

When I saw that, I literally laughed aloud and thought to myself, “Yes! I’m not aloneee!” Very often when I’m reading I get impatient and I can’t always catch myself before I read a couple paragraphs ahead because I want to know whats going to happen that bad. I’ve tried to find ways to stop myself from doing it, but as yet I haven’t found anything that sticks. Quite honestly, it doesn’t bother me enough to keep looking for a way to stop or to keep fretting over it, but it’s still a reading quirk of mine.

My question to you, do you ever find yourself looking ahead to see whats coming next? Have you done this in the past but managed to reform yourself? Please share, inquiring minds would like to know. =]

I very rarely do this, pretty much only when the suspense is making me enjoy the book less instead of more 🙂

I tend to flick ahead for two reasons – either I’m bored with the book or section and want to know when it finishes or I want a sneaky look at what’s coming up because I can’t wait for my reading speed to get to it….. [lol]

I can’t say I’ve noticed myself jumping ahead when I’m not enjoying what I’m reading, maybe I’ll pay more attention next time I catch myself doing this, lol.

Ck, right there with you on the second part! Sometimes its horrible waiting to get to that next part. =]
