How often do you visit a library? Do you go to borrow books? Do research? Check out the multi-media center? Hang out with the friendly and knowledgeable staff? Are you there out of love or out of need?
I’m definitely a loyal patron of my town’s public libraries. I don’t go as often as I could, but when I do go, I’m generally taking out 8-12 books at once, so there’s no doubt I have plenty of reading material at any one time. I actually don’t use the library for anything other than finding books to read. I do use my school’s library for research, but most of it is done using the online databases, so that doesn’t really count. Also, I could borrow movies and music, but between netflix and the like, I just generally don’t take advantage of that part of the libraries offerings.
All in all, I just love to go to the library to check out books. I can spend hours browsing the shelves and commonly do.

When I was younger, I was actually a card carrying member of two libraries! However, now that I am older, I don’t go to the library. The only recent time I used it was my junior year in college for a research paper but other than that I use the online databases. Here’s my BTT
Ahh, I love going to the library to browse, but it’s also convenient for me since I don’t have enough space right now to keep buying books at my normal rate, lol.
The only library I’ve used recently is my University library when I was researching for my last degree. Generally I buy books rather than borrow them (8 today!) but I am fast running out of space to put them…. [lol]
I hear you with the buying books. I love to buy them outright so they’re MINE. Sadly, I’m limited as far as space and funds for books goes these days so the library is my alternative! =]
I don’t go as much as I used to, but like you, when I go I borrow about 8 books or so.
If you’re gonna do it – gotta go all out, right?! That’s what I say at least. =]
