It’s BTT time! This weeks question asks:
One of those quick, easy questions that I ask periodically because the answer is always changing:
What are you reading right now? (And, is it good? Would you recommend it? How did you choose it?)
I’m actually in the middle of a few books right now, but I’ve been focusing on one more than any others…
I’ve been on a bit of a military kick the last week or so since watching the documentary Restrepo (which was absolutely FANTASTIC for anyone curious). When this book caught my eye the other day I kinda shook my head that I hadn’t read it yet and decided it was time to dig in.
I’ve only just started part two of the book which starts off with the immediate aftermath of 9/11, but what I’ve read thus far, I’ve loved. It’s very well written and interesting and I can’t wait to finish it. Based on what I’ve read so far, I definitely recommend this one to anybody who’s interested in War memoirs.
I’m not one for military reads but this sounds like a good one. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Yeah, they definitely aren’t for everyone, but there are still some really good stories out there. =]
Presently reading ‘Death and the Devil’ by Frank Schatzing which is about murder and political conspiracy in 13th century Cologne. Its very good and I picked it up pretty much at random in a 3 for 2 book sale at the mall.
Sounds intriguing, I may have to take a peep at that one. I definitely added one of the books you reviewed recently to my list – Wired for War. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a copy.
I think with your interest in Military things you’ll enjoy ‘Wired for War’. It seems that I am falling back into Teenage habits (second childhood maybe?) and I’m reading/buying lots of Military History ATM. So there should be quite a bit for you to check out. Oh, and my next book batch will be Vampires which should interest you!
I’m looking forward to what you’ve got coming up. As far as military reads I tend to gravitate towards the more recent stuff just because I’m really interested in how the changes in how we fight wars effects us, but I know there are tons of other great reads on the topic out there. I’ll be keeping an eye out!
