The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
So… Hello one and all!
I’ve totally been gone from the blog over the last couple of weeks because of work and school and needing to sleep when I wasn’t dealing with either of those things. Needless to say, my life was hectic and I let the blog get away from me for a while there. To be honest, I let all things bookish get away from me. Except for my ability to buy books, because I’ll admit it. When I need comfort and sanity in my life, I buy books. Coping skills 101 right there.
That being said, here’s a two week special edition of The Sunday Post, which will mostly be pictures of books and bookish stuffs.
Since my last Sunday Post I’ve:
- I participated in one Musing Monday, Top Ten Tuesday, and Booking Through Thursday (kinda old news though, I know. -_-)
- I reviewed (Yes one review! WHOOO! Even if it was two weeks ago) Creed’s Honor by Linda Lael Miller
I’ve Read:
To be honest… not a lot. In two weeks I’ve finished two books… two. I CRY! Literally, too.
I read The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski sort of on a whim. This was one of my recent ‘I can’t sleep so I’m going to buy lots of e-books’ binges. Can I just say… So good. The emotional anguish was about as bad as The Reluctant Dom fiasco meaning tears… hella tears.
Another e-book binge purchase was With This Collar by Sierra Cartwright because I’m just hooked on the BDSM romance. I can’t kick the habit and that’s okay, ’cause I can own it.
Current Reads:
So, I’m in the middle of three books that I started before my disappearance two weeks ago, that I desperately need to pick up and finish. Those would be:
- The Book of Madness and Cures by Regina O’Melveny
- Laura Meets Jeffrey by Jeffrey Michelson and Laura Bradley
- Silver by Rhiannon Held
Also… To continue the BDSM trend, because I wasn’t kidding about being addicted, I’m reading the Rescue Me series by Kallypso Masters which I happen to be loving thus far.
Plans for the Rest of the Week:
The only plan I have is to get all my bloggy-ness organized. Respond to emails. That sort of stuff. For the rest I’ll be flying by the seat of my pants. If nothing else it should be fun to watch the insanity that’s sure to come.
Onto the best part….
The Book Haul!!!!!!
Since I’ve been gone… I’ve bought a book or two… or more.
I totally bought this book for its cover and title. I didn’t read the synopsis or anything. In fact, about 45 seconds ago, when I went to the Barnes & Noble site to get a photo of the cover I discovered it’s the fourth book in a series… so. Whoops.
Another spot and grab from the bargain section at Barnes & Noble.
Be still my FANGIRL heart! I can finally, gloriously get caught up on the Parasol Protectorate series. Oh, hells to the yes!
This is from my review catch-up list so I grabbed it when I saw it during one of my recovery trips to the bookstore, lol. Doesn’t hurt that I love everything I’ve read by Kenyon so far.
I love my creepy stuff every so often and this one looked sufficiently creepy, so I grabbed it. Hopefully, it ends up being so.
S.E.C.R.E.T. has been on my list since I first read about it and I literally just grabbed it without question when I walked by it. I couldn’t resist.
DO YOU SEE?! DO YOU SEE?! I finally bought Bloodlines!!!!! So psyched, so frickin’ psyched!
So that’s everything I bought in the last couple of weeks… in hard-copy You see… I would normally talk about my e-books too, but the thing is, being exhausted and unable to sleep at 1 A.M. with a nook next to the bed signed into a B&N account with a valid debit card set up is bad and dangerous and here’s a sampling of what my inbox has looked like…
Yeah, that’s literally just a sample and I’d be here ALL week just trying to get that stuff organized, so I’m skipping the e-book purchases this go around.
With all that, Happy Reading!
