This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is ten books on our Summer 2022 to read list. I am very much a mood reader, so this is hardly a 100% TBR list, but these are all books that I would like to read during this summer.
1. The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan: Getting cheaty right at number one, but I started reading The Wheel of Time series last month and I plan to keep reading them throughout the summer.
2. Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor: I recently heard about this book from a booktuber and was instantly intrigued by the premise and cannot wait to pick this up.
3. Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson: I picked up a copy of this a while back and recently saw a gushing review on booktube which has put this one firmly back onto my priority category.
4. Gild by Raven Kennedy: A friend of mine has been on me to read this series for a few months now so I’m planning to read it this summer so we can discuss.
5. The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne: This is a norse inspired fantasy series that I am so intrigued by since hearing about it recently.
6. Radiance by Grace Draven: I heard about this some time ago, bought it immediately, and if I recall correctly this is a fantasy/romance between two people from warring factions which is very up my alley.
7. Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson: I talked a couple of weeks ago about wanting to read Brandon Sanderson and never having done it, which has me pushing myself to finally read Mistborn this summer.
8. Written in Red by Anne Bishop: This is fantasy I picked up a couple of years ago about a blood prophet. I’m quite intrigued.
9. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare: I recently decided on a whim that I was going to read these books even though I was unimpressed by the movie, so we will see how it goes.
10. In a Garden Burning Gold by Rory Power: I stumbled across this during a recent trip to the bookstore, and the cover caught my eye and the book came home with me.
These are some of the books that I would like to read sooner rather than later, preferably this summer. It’s entirely possible some other shiny book will get me first, but these are on my mind. What are some of the books you’re planning to read this summer?
Until next time, Happy Reading!
I really must try to get back into Fantasy books… Something small….. Maybe a standalone book….. Or a short series…. Say, less than 10 books or something…..
There are quite a few trilogies out there, but not a ton of standalones that I know of off hand. That’s part of what draws me to fantasy though – I love digging into a big ol’ series where we get to spend some time with the characters on their journeys.
Sorcery of Thorns is SO good. Ah you’ve got some great choices on here. I can’t recommend Mistborn enough!!!
Thanks! I’ve heard so many good things about both books and keep hearing more! I have got to stop delaying on them.
I’m curious about Akata Witch, too.

I’m not a fantasy reader, but I did really like the Mistborn series. Sanderson just has a talent for creating intriguing worlds. I hope you enjoy his books and all these others!
Happy TTT!

Good luck getting through The Wheel of Time! There’s SO MANY books, and hubby’s been nagging me to read them for our entire marriage (over a decade) since it’s his favorite series. xD I’ve made it halfway through the first one and it’s good but it’s so long! lol.
Sorcery of Thorns is really good, and I want to read John Gwynne’s new series, too!
Here’s my TTT post.
Thanks, you too! They are definitely chunky books, I just finished the third one Monday, but I’m excited to keep going because it seems like things are really getting rolling now. Hopefully you enjoy them!
I think I’m going to have to pick up Sorcery of Thorns once I finish my current read. It seems to be a popular one!
