This weeks Weekly Geeks is all about those favorite authors, A to Z style.
You know how when someone asks you who your favorite author is? And you feel a bit crazy coming up with just one? Now is your chance to come up with 26 (at least) favorite authors by making a list of them ABC style. (See my above link from the past for an example.) There are no rules, list a couple per letter if you feel the need. Skip a letter if you draw a blank. Make it be categories if you want to. For instance, a favorite YA author list. A favorite classic author list. A favorite “new to me” author list. A favorite mystery author list.Or simply an all time favorite author list… from A to Z!

Making this list was actually a bit harder than I thought it would be. Some of the authors are new favorites, some are old favorites, and for some letters I couldn’t think of an author so I just went by favorite books/stories. For the life of me I cannot think of any authors that would fit for E, Q, U, X, or Z…
Who are your top authors?
We don’t share any of the same authors on our lists, but you made some great selections. This was a fun list to put together, wasn’t it?
Thanks! It was a good list to put together, it’s not something I had thought of doing before…
Have you read anything by Richard Zimler? He’s very good and could fill in the Z gap.
I couldn’t think of anyone for Q, U or X but how about George Elliot, Janet Evanovich or even Bret Easton Ellis for E?
I’m not familiar with Richard Zimler, but I’ll definitely look him up.
You know, I JUST bought my first George Eliot book last night (I had a weak moment on my way home from work and hit the bookstore). I’ve never read Evanovich and I have one book by Bret Easton Ellis, but haven’t read it yet. I don’t know why I can’t think of a single author I’ve read with an E name…
I wish I’d included Orwell and Harper Lee! SE Hinton is also a fantastic pick. I like a lot of the authors on your list. Also thought about including Gail Carriger. I’m excited to see A.Lee Martinez on your list, I feel like I’m the only person who’s read his books!
Reading Animal Farm is an experience that’s stuck with me, so I figured I had to put Orwell on the list – same goes with S.E. Hinton and reading The Outsiders.
I just discovered Gail Carriger, but I was in love a few chapters into Soulless. As for A. Lee Martinez, I happened across his book Monster one night at the bookstore, I’ve been getting more of his books since. You’re the first person I know of who’s mentioned reading his books though.
Great list, you have a lot of good authors on here that I really like too.
Thanks!
A few of your authors are mine as well and I agree – the list was harder to make than it seemed when I decided to do the challenge..
Shiloh Walker – Love her style and her voice
Have a great reading week..
